Meaghan began her dance career at the age of seven and has now been dancing for over twenty years. Growing up, Meaghan specialized in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Modern, Hip Hop and Theatre Dance. Meaghan went on to pursue dance at Springfield College (SC) where she earned a B.S. in Dance Movement and Education. Throughout the 2005-2006 season at SC, she became President of the Dance Club and co-artistic director of Pulse, the first Spring Dance Concert at the college. In addition, she performed at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut and with the Best of Broadway Theatre production at SC.
After graduation, she went on to teach various styles of dance at numerous studios and facilities in the area. In 2007, Meaghan worked at a fitness center for children, teaching Jazz and Creative Dance. Working at the children’s fitness center made her realize the importance of fitness for not only adults, but for children as well. That summer, Meaghan went on to receive her license as a Zumba instructor in the hopes of making exercise more fun for individuals.
From 2008-2009, she completed extensive training in Ballroom and Latin dancing while becoming certified in the Bronze Syllabus. Meaghan won her first professional competition in 2008 at the New England Colonial Classic and her second in the Spring of 2009 at the New England DanceSport Championships. She has recently become certified through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America in the hopes of bringing wellness to all ages with a fun, yet safe and cautious of approach. Meaghan believes that fitness and movement can be fun and fulfilling when put into the art of dance and that everyone should experience the benefits it has to offer.
